Antony Gormley – Test Sites

This morning I headed to the White Cube in Piccadilly, London, to check out the latest Antony Gormley exhibition – Test  Sites – before it closed today.  It was a much smaller space than Blind Light in the Hayward Gallery but equally inspiring.

The main attraction is the installation on the ground floor – Breathing Room III.  As you enter the room in darkness, your eyes naturally adjust to reveal a luminous 3d construction, which appears to change its colour and shape as you walk through the frames.

It felt quite trippy at first but, as my mind started to adapt to the new surroundings, the exhibition lights came on full beam to a gasp of shock from the audience.  After a few seconds we were in darkness again, but this time I could see more detail and light in the construction, which gave me a completely different experience the second time around.  Amazing… I love AG, more please 🙂
